From an early age, Glyn had a love of animals, especially dogs and horses. In fact at the age of 10, he was helping look after German Shepherd guard dogs belonging to a Mobile Dog Security company that was associated with a lady with whom he was having horse riding lessons. In addition to this, he helped look after the horses both during lessons and afterwards, mucking out, grooming and cleaning tack!
Over the years, this passion has never waned and after playing lacrosse at school, for the County and up to England level, he went into the equestrian world where he acquired a 16h 3 horse and competed at various riding club competitions in show jumping, dressage and one day events.
Sadly however, his busy lifestyle as an estate agent wasn’t conducive to dog ownership, feeling it unfair to leave a dog on its own for long days at a time, there were no dog walkers around then! After a divorce, he met Deborah who has always had dogs in her life, a perfect combination and from that moment, there was no hesitation in getting a dog of their own. A miniature Schnauzer named Ralf was the first one to come along as an 8 week old pup. Another Miniature Schnauzer came along a year later, Bess was her name and a completely different character all together.
After a few years when these were trained, two further dogs came along, both were Maltese Terriers and lovely dogs, again very different characters but similar temperaments. One was owned from a pup whilst the other was taken as a year old, the poor dog had been caged for most of its short life so rehabilitation was needed.
Over the last few years, Glyn has fulfilled his life- long desire to own a German Shepherd, Zen came along as an 8 week old pup and what a dog he’s turned out to be! Two years later, he bought another German Shepherd, Kai, from the same breeder; they share the same Father and Grand Mother, an important consideration given Zen’s temperament and a year on, he’s a cracking dog too, very smart and alert and a pleasure to train. He also has two Lhasa Apso’s, both bought as pups, one currently being 14 weeks old and has taken to training really well. He’s decided that there are no more dogs coming along for now, four is enough!
After an interesting and challenging career spanning 35 years in estate agency, most of it spent around the Altrincham & Hale area, Glyn has decided to pursue a whole new career working with dogs, something that he’s waited too long to do. He brings to the business a professional and highly diligent attitude, is fully DBS certified and Fully Insured, and is used to providing a high level of customer service.
